For 2021, senior players are those born before 1 January 2003 and who are also out of school. Under-18s who are out of school and over-18s who are still at school fall into our Youth age group.
The club's "flagship" teams are our senior teams. We like to provide for everyone who wants to play hockey – from the competitive players who play in our first teams, to beginners who are still learning hockey, to players who just want to be active and have fun with like-minded people. In 2019, when we last played league hockey, we had three men's teams and three women's teams, although our three women's teams included a substantial number of youth players. Our two first teams will both be playing in the second league of the Northerns Blues Hockey Association in 2021.
In previous years training took place at the Pretoria West campus of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), from 19:00 to 21:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are hoping to start pre-season training for 2021 during February at those times, but we have not yet received final Covid-19 directives from the SA Hockey Association, the Northerns Blues Hockey Association and the Tshwane University of Technology, all of which we hope to receive very soon. Once we have clarity on what is expected of us, we will make a decision regarding training days and times. Please check this website or our Facebook page regularly to remain up to date! (Please take note that club hockey and schools hockey are controlled by different government departments and that different rules regarding the resumption of training and matches may apply.)
Whether you currently play hockey elsewhere or not, or even if you've never played hockey before, you are welcome to join in our training sessions to see whether you like the club before you join – at no cost and with no obligation to join. NB: while you need not join before coming to your first session, we just ask that you please let us know you're coming so that we can plan adequately.
